U N P R E S C R I B E D        THE SUN APPARATUS THEATRE COMPANY

Supported by The Sun Apparatus Kickstarter Campaign

Having formed in Spring 2013 at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama as part of MA Advanced Theatre Practice, The Sun Apparatus worked for an intensive four months developing their first performance: Unprescribed.

"Without a doubt this all-female experimental show is one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. It was also one of the most enjoyable."

"This show characterised by the by the unpredictable - strange things unfold before the eyes of the audience, with hysterical results.  With excellent and exceedingly ingenious use of props, physicality, music and facial expression, the four characters construct a captivating, if confusing, world, in which dreams, reality, sanity and insanity all blend together..."

Sinister, funny and at times absurd, Unprescribed derived from a collective passion to unpick dominant power structures that exist in our society.  The Sun Apparatus is an international group of female theatre makers and performers who explore the contemporary conditions of stress, fear and expectation.

The show was performed in August 2013 at Chelsea Theatre, London and received some fantastic feedback.  Unprescribed was then performed at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Greenside Venues for a full run throughout August 2014.

The company is formed of four members: Dana Etgar, Justina Kaminskaite, Sarah Kenney and Katherine Vince, and produced by Katherine Vince.
